A Piece Of Cloth That Conjures Light And Sound

nama

Luiz Zanotello, a Brazilian designer, mined fabric’s innate approachability for a recent project, building a sensor-equipped cloth that can serve as a musical instrumentand generate its accompanying visualizations.

It’s interesting to find that more fabric interaction concepts are mentioned online these days. In this case the piece of cloth conveys the data of movement through the five accelerometers sewn into the fabric. I think this principle could also be applied on individual identity management, maybe several accelerometers could be sewn into personal cloth and through them some specific motions of specified person can be recognized when he or she tries to enter some places where identity authentication is required- just like sometimes we recognize friends just from their gestures and movement patterns. Also the motion patterns could be captured by instruments like Kinect, it’s another potential option.
